It is with a deep regret that the Organising Committee of Charles Hurst Jaguar Land Rover Bangor Town Regatta have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 regatta. This is a decision that has not been taken lightly and we do so in full consultation with the current Government guidelines on the ongoing Covid-19 situation which is expected to last into at least June 2020.
Autism on the Water setting sail for Bangor Town Regatta
A Scottish registered charity is planning to make their debut at this years Charles Hurst Jaguar Land Rover Bangor Town Regatta which will also be their first excursion to Ireland! Autism on the Water is a charity which raises awareness of the Autistic spectrum through the sport of sailing. Murray MacDonald the charity’s founder and who is also autistic has been building up this fantastic initiative which has become recognised not just across Scotland and the UK but also as far as Hong Kong, Australia and Antigua! The charity’s main ambassador is David Witt who skippered Sun Hung Kai Scallywag in the 2017-18 Volvo Ocean Race and he has been heavily involved in the charity’s success.

Bangor Town Regatta are delighted to welcome Charles Hurst Jaguar Land Rover as the headline sponsor of the 2020 event.
During the launch event for the announcement, hosted by Royal Ulster Yacht Club, Charles Hurst Jaguar Land Rover Head of Business Alan Thompson and Ruth Kimbley, Marketing Manager joined the Ards and North Down Mayor, Bill Keery in celebrating the partnership that would allow this years event to build on the success of previous regattas.
Sigma 33 Class Championship to be held within Bangor Town Regatta 2020
The Sigma Association fleet are delighted and very pleased the Class Championship is returning to RUYC and Belfast Lough in 2020.
Sea Bangor Festival Success!
Over 45,000 people visited the popular Sea Bangor Festival over the weekend. The town was buzzing with a host of maritime themed entertainment and activities for all the family!
Bangor Town Regatta Team attend Scottish Series 2019
Gavin Watson and Robby Milench will be competing in this years Scottish Series event at East Loch Tarbert. Juring the event, the BTR event girls will be promomiting our 2020 regatta.
